Position Overview
Reporting into the Marketing division, the Sr. Social Media Manager will own and lead the day-to-day strategy, content, and community for Blenders Eyewear across all social channels. This role is equal parts strategist, creator, editor, and community builder. The Social Media Manager will craft and execute content strategies that drive growth, engagement, commerce, and cultural relevance while staying true to Blenders’ brand voice and values.

This individual is a proactive self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and doesn’t wait for direction to take action. They have experience building programs directly with content creators and influencers, and are passionate about leveraging social platforms not just for awareness, but also for driving commerce through features like Instagram Shopping and TikTok Shops


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Strategy & Ideation

  • Develops and executes platform-specific strategies that support brand awareness, engagement, and drives commerce.
  • Partners with the Marketing and Creative team to concept content that inspires, engages, and converts..
  • Identifies trends, cultural moments, and emerging opportunities to keep Blenders ahead of the curve.
  • Owns and manages a dynamic content calendar that aligns with launches, campaigns, and always-on brand storytelling.
  • Runs test-and-learn initiatives across platforms to pilot new content formats, features, and commerce opportunities.

Content Creation, Editing & Execution

  • Oversees creation, editing, and publishing of high-quality content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Writes compelling social copy aligned with Blenders’ tone.
  • Comfortable shooting creative and being on-camera for select storytelling moments.
  • Hands-on editing using Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut Pro, Canva, or similar tools to produce polished photo, video, and motion assets.
  • Partners with Creative, Design, and external creators to develop video, photo, and motion content.

Creator & Influencer Partnerships

  • Works directly with the Community & Influencer team to align on content creators, influencers, affiliates, and ambassadors to co-create authentic content.
  • Provides creative direction and collaborates with creators on storytelling that drives both engagement and commerce.

Community Management

  • Leads daily engagement with our audience through comments, DMs, and real-time conversations.
  • Builds authentic relationships with fans, influencers, and partners to expand reach.
  • Manages outsourced community support when necessary, ensuring a consistent and authentic brand voice.
  • Monitors real-time cultural and community conversations, escalating brand-sensitive issues and ensuring authentic responses.

Commerce & Performance

  • Leverages social commerce platforms (Instagram Shopping, TikTok Shops, etc.) to drive sales and conversions.
  • Collaborates with eCommerce and Paid Media teams to align on amplification strategies and maximize ROI of organic and paid content.
  • Monitors KPIs including reach, engagement, follower growth, traffic, and conversion.
  • Provides actionable insights and recommendations to optimize social for both brand and business results.
  • Benchmarks against competitors and identifies opportunities to differentiate.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Works cross-functionally with Marketing, Digital/Ecomm,, and Creative to ensure integrated campaigns.
  • Manages project timelines, approvals, and asset delivery.


Skills & Experience

  • 5-7+ years of professional social media experience, ideally within lifestyle, fashion, or consumer brands.
  • Proven ability to grow engaged communities and drive measurable social commerce results.
  • Proactive self-starter with strong initiative; thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with creators, influencers, and affiliates to co-develop content.
  • Strong creative instincts and experience producing and editing social-first content.
  • Hands-on experience editing using Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut Pro, Canva, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills with an adaptable tone of voice.
  • Comfortable with data and able to present insights that inform business strategy.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social trends, commerce features, and the creator economy.
  • Global awareness and ability to leverage cultural trends across markets.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and skilled at prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Work Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Hybrid role: must work onsite from the San Diego office 3–4 days/week.
  • Flexibility to attend photoshoots, brand events, or activations outside standard business hours.
  • Normal working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM.
